Since 2008, there has been a battle between Samsung and Apple for being the top phone. This debate will continue as the quality of their phones get better by the year. These two major brands beat other phone brands through the quality and services they provide. These phones themselves help us with an unbelievable number of things that they can do.
It all started in the year 1938, when Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-Chull in the city of Taegu, Korea. Samsung didn’t sell anything like electronics, but it started as a trading store. As time went by, it turned into an industry that sold, produced, or did research. Lee Byung mainly focused on industrial products to help Korea recover from the Korean war. By 1969, Samsung started making the TV. In the 1990’s, Samsung started to become a global industry. By 1976, the system that would be apple was established. The creator, Stephen G. Wozniak, made his first homemade computer. It started to become more popular, so Wozniak hired managers to maintain the new business. By the 1990’s, the computers were installed in a majority of schools. At the same time, Samsung is almost a global industry. When 2000 hit, Samsung made its first smartphones. Almost a decade later, Apple also made its own smartphone. One and a half decade later, both companies have become the world’s most leading and most advanced phones in existence.
In an interview with an AT&T store manager, Joseph, I learned many of the pros of each of these brands. These questions in the interview were focused on the newest phones for both of the brands. Starting with Samsung, the s23 Ultra phone has a 100x camera and can take clear photos in low lighted areas. The phone has a battery life of 26 hours, an hour short of the s23+. The phone has a built-in smart pen that can be a good match for creative people. Along with this, phone systems are flexible with daily routines, which can make it a good phone for work. The phone has 8 GB of ram, meaning that you can play games without the phone crashing on you. This will allow gamers to play games much longer without the game freezing or even crashing.
Although Samsung is a great product, Apple phone has its own perks. Starting with the camera, it is capable of 120x, with high quality low-light pictures and great resolution, it’s great for photographers. The phone has an A16 chip, meaning that it can process this fast. The phone can last 29 hours, leaving you time to do more with the phone. The phones and iPad are capable of high-quality filming. Many film industries use apple product to film the whole movie/series. Movies like “Knives Out” wer filmed by apple products.
Both of these products are evolving every year. Each one is becoming more advanced than the previous. Samsung for example, has experienced a huge improvement from the very first phone, especially the design of both the system and the appearance. The cameras for Apple are becoming more advanced too. Every year, the camera is better and higher quality than the previous.
These phones wouldn’t be here if people didn’t use them on a daily basis. I surveyed 10 students at Crownpoint High. The first question was, “Do you use Android or Apple phones?” Out of the 10 people, 7 people have Apple phones. The second question was to rate their phones camara quality; 4 people rate their camara quality an 8/10. The third question was whether they use their phones for social media or games or both. The amount of students who use the phones for social media or both were tied. The next question was quite similar to this: I asked if they use their phones for educational purposes, and 6 of them said that they did. I asked them how many phones they had since their first phone, three of them have had 2 phones, which seems to be the most common. Lastly, I asked if replacing your phone with the newer one was worth it. Three said yes, one no, and 6 said maybe.
With each passing day, technology is becoming more advanced. At the rate they are advancing, phones will become practically the future of this world. Phones like the iPhone 14 can save a person by contacting first responders when the phone’s owner gets in an accident. The phone itself is almost like a smaller computer. The designs of phones are becoming more complex too. There have been ideas of a bendable phone, even a phone with a 360-degree view screen, meaning that the screen is not only in the front, but also the back and sides as well. Not all ideas are great. Only those that are more useful are accepted by society. This is how we become more advanced.
