“Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle,” is a quote that really describes McKayla Chiquito’s journey through Crownpoint High School. From her first day as a first-year student to her achievement as Senior of the Year, McKayla has shown a lot of commitment to her academic goals and personal growth.
McKayla Chiquito is a name that stands for dedication and ambition. She was born and raised in Crownpoint, New Mexico, a close-knit community that helped her a lot in her academic dreams. Known for her quiet determination, she has gone through her high school years with a sharp vision of success, which led to her recognition as Senior of the Year.
The Making of a Star Student
McKayla is often described as ambitious, introverted, and intelligent. Her friend Nizhoni Davis shares, “McKayla is a great and one of my dearest friends. She was dedicated to the point that when she was ‘in the zone’ you couldn’t talk to her because she was so focused.” This dedication is shown in every part of her life, from her involvement in school clubs to her interactions with classmates and teachers.
An Introverted Yet Ambitious Personality
McKayla’s introverted nature does not stop her ambition. Instead, it fuels a quiet determination that makes her special. Nizhoni adds, “She was always focused on her goals, often spending hours in the library or participating in study groups.” This characteristic has earned her the admiration of her peers and the respect of her teachers. Crownpoint High School English teacher Ms. Crask-Stone (often reffered to as “Ms. C” for short) recalls, “McKayla was a smart and isolated person to me, but she was very enthusiastic and liked to get most of her answers correct.”
Her Academic Achievements
Throughout high school, McKayla has been actively involved in clubs like Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and Project Lead the Way (PLTW). “The most interesting part about high school is the clubs, mainly HOSA and PLTW. I did not know they had dental for the HOSA club,” McKayla reflects. Her involvement in these clubs has enriched her high school experience and prepared her for the future.
McKayla’s academic journey is full of impressive milestones. She kept a high GPA, earning a spot in the National Honor Society. McKayla’s dedication to her studies is clear in her thorough approach to coursework and her love for learning. “She always aimed to understand the material deeply rather than just memorizing it for tests,” says Mrs. C.
Recognitions and Awards
McKayla’s hard work has not gone unnoticed. She has received many awards during her high school career, recognizing her academic excellence and leadership skills. Being named Senior of the Year is the result of her hard work and determination. “It’s an honor that reflects not just my achievements but also the support of my teachers and friends,” McKayla says modestly.
Praised by Teachers and Peers
Mrs. C, one of McKayla’s teachers, praises her academic skills, saying, “She was a very enthusiastic person and liked to get most of her answers correct. She always wanted to become Senior of the Year and she achieved it. There were so many more goals, whether it be getting good grades or becoming Senior of the Year.” McKayla’s academic achievements are a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Mrs. C has seen many students come and go, but McKayla stands out for her exceptional qualities. “Her enthusiasm and love for learning were infectious.
