Imagine a basketball court where every dribble seems like a dance, every shot a symphony of skill, that’s where you’ll find Delicate. But off the court, she’s not just a basketball player, she’s the perfect example of kindness, beauty, and humor, creating moments that linger long after the game ends.
Meet Delicate Manuelito, a senior here at Crownpoint High, graduating this year! She is number 32 on the basketball team, with a heart of gold, she’s a powerhouse, dribbling and shooting with skill and style. But what sets her apart is her kindness and warmth, her amazing sense of humor, and her powerful drive. With a smile that brightens the gym and a laugh that’s contagious, she’s loved by teammates and fans alike. Smart, funny, kind and beautiful inside and out, Delicate isn’t just a player – she’s a friend, a leader, and an inspiration to us all.
Her time here at Crownpoint High School
In an interview with Delicate, I asked her how her time was here at Crownpoint, she said “my time here at Crownpoint High School was pretty great, I loved making friends and they truly helped me throughout the years. This is a place where the saying “treat others how you want to be treated” really has value.” According to Delicate, Delicate’s high school years were filled with the creation of memories with friends and family, highlighting the positive impact she had on the people around them. Despite facing numerous obstacles, Delicate’s strong support system from the local community provided a sense of safety and belonging. Her approach to life, rooted in mutual respect, cultivated a positive environment where everyone felt valued. Delicate’s ability to brighten the day for those around them with her smile and uplifting presence is a testament to her kindness and empathy. Her influence extended beyond friendships, fostering a community where everyone felt appreciated and supported.
Some good memories she made
Crownpoint High School is where Delicate attended, it is a place where unforgettable memories were made, especially during sport games. In an interview with Delicate, she stated “The best times I had at Crownpoint was playing basketball with my friends on a team.” The team spirit and excitement of these events provided a much-needed escape from life’s challenges, showcasing the school’s vibrant and supportive atmosphere. In my perspective of hanging out with her, it was more than just a pastime; it was a source of immense comfort and joy. This nurturing environment, filled with laughter and shared experiences, speaks volumes about the school’s ability to create a positive and comforting space for its students.
Imprints she has left
Aside from interviews with her, I personally think Delicate is the sweetest, kindest, funniest, and nicest person you will ever meet, my first day of high school I was playing volleyball, and I spiked the ball really hard, and it went over my friend and hit Delicate in the head! I have never felt so bad in my life, I asked if she was okay and all she did was smile and walk away. To me, this truly showed me how kind she is. In an interview with Crownpoint High School freshman Audrey, she said “Practice was really fun with her, she brought a positive attitude with a bubbly personality which made practice a much better experience. She was always nice, friendly, and pretty.” This shows how she can brighten someone’s day by just being herself. In an interview with another freshman, Miley, she stated “She is really nice, and very, very, very funny person, and she was very funny in basketball and knew how to make someone smile when they were sad and make everyone’ day better. She was a type of person that if you just met her, it would’ve seemed like you had known her for years.” This reminded me of Delicate’s loving nature, because it is very hard to feel comfortable with someone you just met, but Delicate will make you feel like you’ve known her for years.
In Delicate, we find not just a basketball player, but a shining example of kindness, humor, beauty, strength, and overall being a good person. Her stories from here at Crownpoint can remind us to have fun in high school while it lasts, don’t let people drag you down, soar higher than them because soon before you know it, you’re graduating and from then on, your life begins. In conclusion, let’s celebrate Deli, a true inspiration, friend, and amazing person both in school and on the court no matter what.
