Have you ever wondered what a good student is? Well, if you have, Jonathan Antonio would be a fitting example. Why? This is because throughout Jonathan’s high school years he has accomplished many things that have surprised his peers, friends, family, and even himself. He has grown independent and has learned what it takes to become a good student. This article will discuss what Jonathan did to get this far.
Jonathan goes to school at Crownpoint High School, where he is currently a senior. He has been there since he was a freshman. Jonathan’s main sport is football, and he loves the game and is well dedicated to it. He even has sponsors–for example, he has a sponsor from “Aftermath”, which is a sportswear page for football players to go to. Throughout New Mexico Jonathan has been recognized for his talent and has been invited from all kinds of different schools to participate in football camps, which he did attend. Throughout Jonathan’s high school years, he has been in football ever since, where he overcame struggles with how to manage his grades while being in a sport. This taught him how to be organized and aware of his educational purposes. Time management is also a skill that he developed, as he had to learn how to manage his time while being an athlete. All that paid off when he became a senior. His senior year he was quarterback for the high school football team, and the team had an incredible winning season. Not only was Jonathan a football player, but he was also in track and field. He qualified for state and went to Alburquerque New Mexico where he competed. Jonathan was a great athlete for the Crownpoint Eagles, and everybody enjoyed working with him.
High School is a challenge for everyone, but Jonathan made his high school years look like they were easy. He was a good role model to the lower-class men and many of them looked up to him, including me. In an interview with high school freshman Cayden Cambridge, he stated, “While being in football freshman year, Jonathan always helped me out telling me what to do and how to do it, and he never got mad or annoyed, but he’d get after us sometimes.” In another interview, freshman Tryan Jodie said, “Jonathan was friendly, and a good role model, he watched over me and the other freshmen like a big brother, making sure no one was getting bullied, but he was serious and got after us if we ever messed around.” He has treated the freshmen and sophomores like he was their own brother. He sometimes gets after some of the freshman athletes, if they are slacking off, and he keeps them on track. Sometimes he would give them a pep talk before a football game or a track meet. He would always encourage them to get better and keep going. For example, if one of the athletes were not particularly good, he would encourage them to keep practicing instead of putting them down, saying they should not play the game. Overall, Jonathan is a good role model to everyone, and he is a good person to look up to.
It takes dedication and courage to finish high school with good grades and a college to go to. It took Jonathan four years of dedication and determination to get to where he is today. Jonathan is finishing high school with good grades and a college that he plans to attend. In interview with Jonathan, he remenisced, “High School was a vast experience for me. It grew me as a person and shaped me into a better individual, and this will not happen unless you take the time to put work and effort into your schoolwork and sports.” High School can be fun, but you must put forth the work ethic to even start somewhere. Without dedication or courage, high school will be a miserable place for you, and you will likely not get anywhere from it.
Sadly, Jonathan Antonio will be graduating and will leave Crownpoint High School. Jonathan has made a name for himself here at Crownpoint and will never be forgotten. His friends here at Crownpoint will carry on his teachings and will pass it down to the incoming freshmen and sophomores. Although Jonathan will be missed, his time at Crownpoint High School has come to an end. Now he will create a new life at Knox College.
