Some people like to do rodeo because their family did it or they might just like to do rodeo. Rodeo can be fun and dangerous at the same time. Some kids can do it when they are 4 or above. Anyone can join if they like to do rodeo because it is open to anyone. I would like to influence people to do rodeo because it can really be fun. It will be scary at first, but later on in the season, it will be fun.
I am a freshman at Crownpoint High School who competes in rodeo, among other sports. I am writing about rodeo because that is my favorite thing to do. Rodeo allows me to interact with my friends and family. This article will explore the amazing sport of rodeo.
I would like to be good enough to be in the Indian National Finals Rodeo. I would also like to make it to the National Finals Rodeo. I think that if I wor hard enough, I could be good enough to make it to the big rodeo. I like to practice roping steers at home, and I often like to invite friends, like Trevor Jim. I practice so I can do well in rodeo and when I go roping, I know that I will perform well.
In order to discover some other viewpoints on rodeo, I interviewed some people I know who are involved in rodeo. A friend of mine, Tayden Tom said “I do rodeo because I like to have fun,” and he added, “I practice once a week because I have a lot of things to do at home. When I have free time, I also like to play games with my friends on a gaming console.
Another person I interviewed was Crownpoint High School Junior, Keith Pradt, who said, “I do rodeo because I get to see my friends.” He also stated, “I practice at 5:30-6:00 in the morning.” He also said when he has free time he will go and rope the dummy that he has. He would practice when Blaine Tsosie would go to his house to rope.
A person that I surveyed was Tyra Tsosie. Tyra said that she likes to do rodeo because she does rodeo for money. She says she likes to do rodeo and that she was inspired by her family to do rodeo. She has done rodeo almost her whole life. Her favorite person that does rodeo is Derrick Begay.
Rodeo can be fun most of the time, but sometimes it’s not fun for other people because they might not win at the rodeo. If some people do well, then they would want to have fun like eating somewhere good. But if some people don’t do that well, they would feel down and would want to practice so they will do good next time.
Can rodeo be dangerous? Yes, it can because there are a lot of people that get hurt when they do rodeo. Once when I did rodeo, I got hurt twice. I got hurt because I was doing steer riding and then I fell off then I got my leg stepped on. When I was watching the rodeo, I saw that JB Mauney got knocked out riding a bull. I alos once had a friend that got hurt when he was roping. He got hurt because he didn’t wear a glove and he got a rope burn.
Why do people do rodeo? Some people like to do rodeo because their family did rodeo. Other people do rodeo because they want to, or they like to do it. Some people will start young because they know that they want to do rodeo I the future. When they start young, they will already know what to do when they participate at older ages.
When I make a mistake or don’t have my best performance at a rodeo event at my brothers are always there to help me with what I need help with. Sometimes I have to practice when they are not there in order to keep improving. Also, some people help me if I am by myself at a roping event by myself, for instance. If people want success in rodeo, they can practice almost every day out of the week so they can get better every day. I would want to help people that need a lot of work because I could teach them new things about rodeo. Rodeo inspires me because it allows me to do what I enjoy and connect with all of the people I love. For me, there is nothing in this world better than rodeo.
